Personal Approach

People seek counselling for a wide variety of reasons. It may be for feelings of unhappiness and dissatisfaction with life in general, low mood or the experience of repeated relationship problems. Other's seek counselling for painful emotions relating to life events and experiences which may include depression, anxiety, illness or bereavement.

I can offer a safe, confidential, non-judgemental and reliable setting in which to explore these difficulties. Together we can look at your life events and you will be encouraged to explore unresolved issues and conflicts, your response to them and to think about the ways in which you relate to yourself and others. This developing of self-awareness may then help to make sense of recurring problems. A clearer understanding of self can allow the possibility of greater freedom of though and action, releasing energy and may lead to meaningful change.

Although my work is underpinned by a psychodynamic approach, I am also experienced in working with other models of counselling.
